If you don’t have Google Analytics on your website, get it added today. For those of you that do, login to your Google Analytics account and check your mobile traffic report. I bet you’ll find that 50% – 60% or more of the traffic it gets each month is from visitors accessing it with their mobile devices; phones and tablets. Since that is now the majority of your traffic, you’ll want to make sure those visitors have a good experience and can interact with your website (read the content, navigate it easily, fill out forms, etc.), as those numbers are expected to continue growing.
The time when you could just have a website online and be successful is long gone. Now you must be active on social media, have accurate local listings, keep an eye on your online reputation, marketing your dealership and inventory on industry-specific websites, write original blog articles, gather and nurture leads, do videos, have a PPC Campaign, remarketing, geotargeting, and more. And that’s not just to get in front of your potential customers, but also rank well in Google SERPs. There’s a great deal of blog posts, articles, and studies that indicate those marketing tactics, or the results of them, influence your ranking. That in turn affects your ROI.
